§ 3.12.230. Independent expenditures for mass mailings, slate mailings or other campaign materials.

    Any person who makes independent expenditures for a mass mailing, slate mailing or other campaign materials which support or oppose any candidate shall place the following statement on the mailing in typeface of no smaller than fourteen (14) points:

    Notice to Voters

    (Required by the City of Oakland)

    This mailing is not authorized or approved by any City candidate or election official.

    It is paid for

    by (name) _____

    _______(address, city, state)

    Total cost of this mailing is: (amount)

    B.

    A committee must disclose the names of persons from whom the committee received its two (2) highest cumulative contributions of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) or more in the same manner as required by California Political Reform Act Section 84506 on all mass mailings and television advertisements that are independent expenditures supporting or opposing a candidate or measure being voted upon only in the City.
