§ 5.30.040. Action on application for owner's permit to operate public motor vehicle.

In addition to the grounds set forth in Section 5.02.060 upon which an application for an owner's permit may be denied, the Police Department
shall deny the same if it shall appear to his or her satisfaction that such vehicle
proposed to be operated is inadequate or unsafe; that the applicant has been convicted
of a felony or the violation of any narcotics law or of any penal law involving moral
turpitude; that the applicant's proposed color scheme, name, monogram, insignia, uniform
or cap will be in conflict with, or imitate, any color scheme, name, monogram, insignia,
uniform or cap used by any other person operating a public motor vehicle in such a
manner as to be misleading or tend to deceive or defraud the public; that in case
of an application to operate a motorbus, the proposed schedule is inadequate or that
the proposed route is incompatible with expedient traffic regulations.
