§ 5.62.040. Two operators.

  • Every person owning or engaged in the business of operating street cars within the city by means of electricity shall provide and maintain upon each of such cars, while containing passengers, at least two employees: a motorman and a conductor, during all the time said car is in motion within said city, each of said employee to be an adult not less than eighteen (18) years of age, excepting as hereinafter provided.

    The Council may grant, by ordinance, permission to operate one-person street cars over such lines and upon such conditions as it may prescribe, after application made therefor, filed with the Clerk of said Council setting forth specifically the routes and lines upon and over which it is desired to operate said one-person street car. Any person violating any of the provisions of this section or permitting, ordering, authorizing or directing a violation thereof, shall be deemed guilty of an infraction.
