§ 5.04.100. New business registration.

  • Every person applying for a first certificate for a newly established business shall pay a registration fee in the amount set forth in the City of Oakland master fee schedule (as amended from time to time) within thirty (30) days from the date of commencement of business activity. The purpose of this fee is to offset a portion of the administrative costs. Failure to register shall subject the taxpayer to penalty and interest as provided for by Sections 5.04.190 and 5.04.230, respectively.
